Sofa City Donates New Furniture to Mercy Hospital OR Lounge for Nurses

This week, Nurse Gregory from Mercy OR was shopping at Sofa City for a new recliner for the co-worker lounge. She was telling her story to the store manager:

"We have to take a lot of call so you rest when you can. Some of us have to travel a distance so we stay at the hospital. I have slept many times in the now broken recliner, so I decided I was going to buy a recliner for our staff lounge."

The Sofa City manager was moved by her story and offered to donate a complete set including a reclining sofa, a reclining loveseat and a recliner to the lounge so the Operating Room staff could have a place to rest and put up their feet between long shifts or when inclement weather prevented them from going home between shifts.

By the next day, Sofa City had the furniture delivered to the OR lounge and the nurses and team were ecstatic. "I am so excited I can hardly contain it," said Gregory. "Thank you from all the surgery staff here at Mercy."
